Funmi Mathews
Designer & Maker

(BA, hon) Printed Textile Surface Decoration, Artist, Designer, and Maker.

Jazzieo Textile Design was setup in 2013/2014 by Funmi Mathews, a Printed Textile Artist, Designer, and maker based in Welling, Kent UK. Her love for African print and general art & craft lend her to Study Printed Textile and Surface Decoration at the University of East London, specializing in digitally printed art illustrations, textile and wallpaper designs which are rich in colour and texture.

Her designs are inspired by a mixture of elements from nature to architectural, found objects and the flamboyant use of colours, texture and stylised motifs seen in African textiles. This is then mix with the western influence to create my own unique fresh style through drawing and photographs.

Most of her designs are hand drawn and hand painted to give a textured feel, these are then digitally placed into repeat to produce unique patterns which are turned into textile and wallpaper prints that would add unique, elegant colours and excitement to an architectural wall
space and texture to home and fashion accessories.

Funmi's designs as well as Arts can be found on many products such as Fabric, Lampshades, Cushion, Art Prints, Notebooks, Greeting Cards, and Tea Towels, Napkins and Bags and so on and so Forth.

All handmade in the UK with great care and love.
